Avera Foundation

For the fourth consecutive year, Avera Foundation was recognized by the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy with the High Performer distinction for 2022. AHP recognizes high performance based on organizations that fall within the top 75th percentile in net returns from fundraising efforts, minus expenses. For data based on fiscal 2021, being a High Performer in the overall category means that Avera Foundation raised more than $23.6 million among all U.S. respondents to the AHP’s Report on Giving. Thanks to more than 18,000 benefactors, the Avera Foundation reported giving of more than $40 million in fiscal 2021 and $46 million in fiscal 2022.


Dakota State University

José-Marie Griffiths, president of Dakota State University, has been awarded the chief executive leadership award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District VI.


Maguire Iron

Maguire Iron has promoted Rafael Balayan from project coordinator to project manager.


Marsh McLennan Agency

Marsh McLennan Agency has earned a Top Workplaces USA award, ranking No. 13 on the list of large employers – those with 2,500 and more employees. The awards are based on feedback from an employee engagement survey.


TSP

Architectural graduate Fernando Arechiga has joined the multidisciplinary design firm TSP Inc. Before joining TSP, he was a self-employed contractor.


Vance Thompson Vision

Vance Thompson Vision is adding two physicians to expand services. In August, board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologists Dr. Jed Assam and Dr. Zachary Keenum will join the practice’s surgical team. Assam is a specialist in retina care while Keenum brings oculoplastics expertise.

The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota, Heavy-Highway-Utilities Chapter has elected officers: president, Rob Knight, Foothills Contracting of Webster; senior vice president, Andy Johnson, A-G-E Corp. of Fort Pierre; vice president, Elroy Buren, Complete Contracting of Rapid City; secretary/treasurer, Chad Hartman, L.G. Everist of Sioux Falls; and past president, R.C. Scull, RCS Construction of Rapid City. Newly elected board member is Eric Priesz, BX-CC of Dell Rapids.

The AGC HHU Chapter’s Associate Division has elected officer: president, Andrew Heitzler, Fringe Benefits Design of Sioux Falls; vice president, Toby Royer, Butler Machinery Co. of Aberdeen; secretary/treasurer, Scott Norman, Pete Lien & Sons of Rapid City; past president, Wade Planting, Titan Machinery of Sioux Falls. Caliber has hired Brittany Johnson as a marketing coordinator. Johnson has experience in boutique management, which included marketing efforts.


Central Payments

Central Bank of Kansas City, along with Central Payments’ Bank Secrecy Act team, has received one of five annual law enforcement awards from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. The team assisted law enforcement in identifying and stopping financial crimes.


Central Payment’s Nikkee Rhody, chief of strategy, and Shannon Huether, vice president of project management and implementations, were part of an American Banker interview about the strategy behind recruiting and elevating women in the fintech industry. While women occupy 10 percent of leadership roles in the fintech industry, half of Central Payment’s senior leadership positions are held by women.

Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas


Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas has hired three staff members.


Austin Hahn is the data and health information program manager. He previously worked for Avera Health as a technology intake developer.

Nonna Tumbashev is the outreach and enrollment navigator. She previously was a case manager at Volunteers of America.

Amber Huez is the policy and partnership manager and will work in the North Dakota office. Previously, she served as the North Dakota Medicaid quality and dental manager.
